Sync AI drafts to Gmail

Create Gmail drafts when Letterbook generates AI drafts.

Last updated June 25, 2026

What this guide covers#

Sync AI Drafts to Gmail creates a draft in Gmail when an AI draft is generated in Letterbook. Use it when your team still works partly from Gmail or wants Gmail drafts available alongside Letterbook conversations.

Configure it in Settings > Automations > Sync AI Drafts to Gmail.

When to enable it#

Enable Gmail draft sync when:

  • Your support workflow still includes Gmail.
  • Teammates review or send some replies from Gmail.
  • You want AI drafts visible in the connected mailbox.
  • You are transitioning from Gmail-first support to Letterbook-first support.

Leave it disabled when agents should work only in Letterbook or when Gmail drafts would confuse ownership.

Requirements#

Gmail draft sync is useful only for inboxes connected through the Gmail integration. If an address uses forwarding only, Letterbook receives inbound email through forwarding but does not have the same mailbox-level Gmail draft surface.

For the email setup decision, see Get tickets into Letterbook and Connect Gmail.

Operating guidance#

  • Decide whether agents should send from Gmail or from Letterbook.
  • Avoid having two teammates edit the same draft in different places.
  • Keep review rules consistent. A Gmail draft created by AI still needs the same accuracy review as a Letterbook draft.
  • If Gmail drafts create confusion during rollout, disable sync and keep drafting inside Letterbook.
